Josephine A. Murphy

Josephine A. Murphy Pepperell native, Merrill Lynch retiree; 87 PEPPERELL Josephine Allen Murphy, 87, of Arlington, and formerly of Pepperell, died on November 9, 2007, at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, after a short illness. She was born in Pepperell, on Jan. 17, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Schreiterer) Murphy. She was educated in the Pepperell School System, and was a graduate of Pepperell High School, Class of 1938. She continued her education at Bryant Stratton College in Boston where she graduated in 1940. She worked as an Investment/Financial Consultant for 42 years at Merrill Lynch Investment Co., in Boston, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed gardening, and traveling, as well as family and friends. While living in Arlington, she was a communicant of St. Agnes Church, and was a former member of St. Joseph Parish in Pepperell. Survivors include her longtime friend and companion, Ruth E. Noble of Arlington; a sister, L. Catherine White and her husband, Robert Steiner of Shirley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
