Joshua Gens Obituary
He was born in Lowell on May 29, 1985, a son of James and Donna Gens of Lowell and Carol Gens of Lowell. He attended local schools, and graduated from Tyngsboro's Greater Lowell Technical High School in 2003.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Nicole Gens of Lowell; two brothers, James Gens Jr. and Chad Gens, both of Lowell; a nephew, Ethan Gens of Lowell; his fiancée, Sarah Bijoel of Lowell; his grandmother, Adele Hackett of Tewksbury; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Happy Birthday Josh! I miss you so much my beautiful baby brother. Today you would be 36 years old. Getting up there bro!! I can't believe it has been 15 years since I have seen you, but I know you are with me everyday. I feel you my angel of heaven. I know your are happy and at peace, and I am living the same. I always will look forward to seeing you again. We will have alot to talk about and catch up on!! You are truly missed every day. I know that you are right next to me all the time. You help me accept life, and that I am going where you are. I love you with all that I am sweet brother. Say hi to God for me. See you soon angel.

Joshua was a wonderful person,one of the best I have ever known. I will miss him dearly and I know he will be a guardian angel to his loved ones. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. I am such a lucky person to have had the privlege to know him and I will never forget him.

Josh..all i know is that you were a great brother to Jim,Chad, and I..and that I will always remember the good times we had together. Its hard to get through this, but the only thing that comes to my mind is that you were such a great person, that God took you to the best place anyone could ever be. I didnt know him as much as my brother, Joel, did but Josh is somebody I could not express in any words. He was an extremely caring person who always made sure everybody was happy/smiling before he made sure of himself. I mean he was always smiling when I saw him. Especially when Sarah was around. As a matter of a fact I dont think I ever seen Josh without her by his side. I will definatly miss Josh ... He'll forever be remembered though. Much love goes out to the family and friends, just be sure to stay strong!!

altough me and josh never really were close freinds i had shop with him in school and there was a day i needed help on my project and josh was the first to help and i belive that was the kind of person he was he had a kind heart and a great personality. he would give you the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his pocket if you needed it more than him. i was shocked to hear of something so tragic happening to such a nice person he will be creatley missed by anyone who knew him. my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this tragic time

My condolences go out to his family, Sarah, & all his friends. I remember Josh always smiling and he always knew how to put one on your face. He had a biggest heart out of anyone I knew. I know he is in a better place. Josh is in God's hands now and he is watching over us all. He will be our Angel. Josh you are missed. I love you & everyone else too.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,

Words can not express how good of a "man" Josh was...I didn't know him very well, but I picked up immediately from my interaction with him that he was a genuinely great person. Josh will be missed by many, he was loved by all that knew him, and will continue to be loved. He left a mark on every person that came in contact with him, and I will always remember him as a sweet young man. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Josh personally, but I was there when he got shot. I know that no words can bring comfort to such a horrible loss. I only hope that you can take comfort in the knowledge that he must have been a good man, with a good heart. His friends would not leave his side.

Josh was one of the nicest people ever. That weekend that i went down to lowell to hangout with sarah, lexi, and josh was unforgetable. Josh is always in my heart and will never be forgotten.

I have great memories of the friendship we all shared with Josh, when we were all young and used to hang out everyday by the washington school and going to school with josh from 5-12 grade we shared alot of good times. Josh was a fine young man. I enjoyed having him in my English class. He was full of life, funny and intelligent. I always enjoyed Josh coming back and saying "hi" or just stopping in to talk. I am terribly sorry for your loss.

Josh was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face. He was a perfect gentleman. I didn't know him that well but I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you(his family). Josh will be very sadly missed by everyone. He was a young, handsome & good all around kid. He touched so many people in his young life. Even though he is not here with us physically.
