Kathleen T. (Caveney) Girard, age 50, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly in her home on November 27, 2021. Kathleen was born on September 29, 1971, in Lowell, MA. Kathleen attended Lowell Schools and Presentation of Mary Academy where she enjoyed participating in basketball and cheerleading. Kathleen earned her nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and dedicated decades of her career caring for her patients with compassion and humor. She worked at Tewksbury Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, and in hospice care. Kathleen's many passions included art, Aerosmith, fashion, karaoke, the beach, skiing, bowling, camping, winning any game she played, yoga, fitness, and spending time with people she loved. Although Kathleen struggled with addiction, she took immense pride in being over 4 years sober, being part of the sober community, and seeing her son, Dylan, gain sobriety.

Kathleen is predeceased by her husband: Kevin Girard (2011); her father: Richard Caveney (1995); her brothers: Richard Caveney Jr. (2019) and Luke Caveney DC (2013); her father-in-law: Armand Girard (2018); and her sister-in-law: Diane Girard (2006).

Kathleen is survived by her partner: Jimmy Leveque and his children; her daughter: Nicole Sullivan and her husband Nicholas; her son: Dylan Girard; her mother: Ida Caveney; her sister: Ann (Caveney) Boldrighini; her aunt: Doris Boisvert; her mother-in-law: Marguerite Girard; her siblings-in-law: Ann Marie Girard MacEachern and her husband Matthew, Vivian Girard, Michael Boldrighini, and Kathleen (Caveney) Murphy; in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the sober community.

Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. Kathleen's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Rita's Church, 158 Mammoth Rd., LOWELL. The family kindly requests those attending the Funeral Mass go directly to the Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
