Kirk Czelewicz Obituary

LOWELL

Kirk J. Czelewicz, Sr., age 49, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at Tufts Medical Center on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Julie (DeCarteret) Czelewicz with whom he enjoyed 21 years of marriage and 30 years together.

He was born in Lowell on March 8, 1972 and was the son of Richard Czelewicz and Ovidia Dragoli.

Kirk proudly worked as a security guard at Lowell High School. He loved his job and the students at the high school. He was a hardworking, ambitious man known as a jack-of-all-trades and a master of teasing. Kirk had a passion for life and never missed an opportunity to learn new things. Kirk loved food and the joy of cooking for everyone. He would often be found in the kitchen cooking his delicious beans and chicken broccoli ziti. He valued family traditions especially at Easter where he would bake Italian bread with his family. Kirk loved the ocean and making lasting memories with his family and friends at the family home in Old Orchard Beach. He lived life to its fullest and found joy in making connections with those around him. Above all, Kirk adored his family and cherished every moment with them.

In addition to his loving wife and his parents, Kirk is survived by his sons, Kirk Jr. and Nicholas; his sister, Christina Francis of Lowell; his mother-in-law, Jo Ann Morrissey of Tyngsboro; his mother Ovidia's significant other, Timothy Hall of Nashua; his niece Kayla Ayotte and her significant other Eric Correa and their son David Milliard; his nephew, Samuel Francis; his sister-in-law Rachel DeCarteret and her significant other Mark deSousa and their daughter Jessica; and his brother-in-law Bronson DeCarteret and his wife Caryn and their children Evin, Brooke, and Alexis. He is predeceased by his Gramma Liz, Gramma Molly and Uncle Benny.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 28th from 1pm to 5pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at Immaculate Conception Parish, 144 East Merrimack Street, LOWELL. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately. Kirk: You were always a gentleman and kind. We always thanked b you for looking after my daughter while she was attending LHS. We are so grateful for that. You always smiled, took time to listen and made a difference in so many lives, especially in our students' lives. They saw you as a parent figure.

Worked a bit with Kirk at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. You were a class act. Helped me a lot understanding why patrons never listen when you tell them to give the entertainers some space. Had some late nights working with Kirk. Kirk knew my brother who was a retired Lowell Police Officer and worked part time at LHS as a sub.My deepest condolences to his family. RIP my friend.
