Lucille Dumont Obituary

Mrs. Lucille Jane (Ayer) Dumont of Dunstable, MA, formerly of Nashua, NH DUNSTABLE Mrs. Lucille Jane (Ayer) Dumont, 73, of Dunstable, died at her home Tuesday morning, August 26, 2008, surrounded by her loving family who will miss her dearly. She was happily married to Mr. Leonard R. Dumont, Sr. with whom she had just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 2, 2008. Born in Haverhill, MA, on January 26, 1935, the daughter of the late W. Elliot and Anna M. (Rowe) Ayer. She was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 1952, following high school she received her floral design certificate from Rittner's Floral Design School in Boston, and started her career in floral design. She was employed at Kelly Healthcare and AAA Travel in Lowell, and most recent as a Appointment Coordinator at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, until her retirement in 1985. Lucille was a faithful communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford, where she also taught the CCD Masters Program for religious education. She will be remembered for being a devoted wife, mother, and friend, as well as her loving and generous personality and her bravery and determination in prevailing over life's obstacles. She was most happy spending quality time with her loving family, friends and her special companions, Rocky, Calvin, Hobbes and Powder. Besides her devoted husband, Leonard, she is survived by loving children, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Leonard and Fran (Beckwith) Dumont, Jr. of Seabrook, NH, Timothy J. and Nancy (Gale) Dumont of Groton, MA, Daniel J. Dumont of Dracut, Peter and Kathy (Patenaude) Dumont of Dunstable; three daughters, Debra Dumont Hill of Dunstable, Maria and her husband, Michael Rubin of Greensburg, PA, Kim Dumont and Kathryn Horman of E. Haddam, CT; a sister, Mildred Gifford of Acton, MA; 15 cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Connor Hill, Cierra Dumont, Kristen and Michael Violette, Michael and Nicholette Dumont, Kaitlin, Mark, Kelsey, and Ariel Dumont, Adam, Eric, Matthew, and Andrew Rubin, Peter and Jack Dumont' three brothers-in-law, Leon Belley of Dunstable, Leo Dumont and Fern Child of Tyngsboro, Roger and Marie Dumont of Pepperell, MA; sisters-in-law, Jeannine Ayer of Nashua, NH, Dorothea Dumont and Doris LaPorte, both of Dunstable, Irene and Dave Davis of Springhill, FL; a great-granddaughter, Madison Violette; many nieces, nephews, and numerous close family friends. She was the Mother of the late Sandra M. Dumont of Dunstable who died October 9, 1957. DUMONT Lucille Jane (Ayer) Dumont, of Dunstable, formerly of Nashua, NH, died August 26, 2008. Visiting hours Fri. 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Sat. at 8 A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church, N. Chelmsford. Burial in Central Cemetery, Dunstable. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Lucille's memory to the Dunstable Public Library, Main St., Dunstable, MA 01827.
