Mary Bowen Obituary
Sr. Mary Cecelia Bowen O.S.C., 74 of Andover, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Monastery of St. Clare in Andover.
She was born on February 1, 1947 in Bridgeport, CT and was a daughter of the late Thomas Bowen and the late Harriet Jean (McElaney) Bowen.
Sister entered into Religious Life on August 29, 1980, and professed her Final Solemn Vows on October 11, 1986.
Her survivors include her sister in law, Penny Lu Bowen of Winter Park, Florida; her niece, Sarah Finch Bowen of Auburn, Massachusetts; her nephew, Michael Robert Bowen and his wife, Kristin, of Winter Park, Florida and their children, Harrison Zack Bowen and Hunter Zack Bowen; her cousins, Leslie Jordan of San Juan Bautista, CA, Gerard Quinn of Waterbury, CT, Geoffrey Quinn and his wife, Deborah of Woodbury, CT, and James Quinn Anchorage, Alaska.
She was predeceased by her brother, the late Robert Edward Bowen.

Sr. Mary Cecilia Bowen, O.S.C. will lie in state on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Monastery of St. Clare, 445 River Road, Andover, MA from 9:30-11:30 a.m.. Her funeral Mass will be offered at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Arrangements by McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, 978-458-6816.
