Mary Coates Obituary

of Seabrook, NH; age 66

SEABROOK, NH - Mary E. (Barron) Coates, age 66, a resident of Seabrook, NH died unexpectedly, Friday, January 12, 2024 in Seabrook. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Coates to whom she was married for 20 years prior to his death in 2020.

She was born in Boston on April 11, 1957, and was a daughter of the late Joseph E. Bannon, BFD and Marion E. (Chavoor) Barron. She was of Assyrian and Irish descent. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Framingham State University and her Registered Nurse degree from Regis College in Weston, MA.

Mary was a veteran in commercial insurance for 40 years. She also worked part-time as a Registered Nurse.

In her free time she enjoyed snow skiing, traveling, hiking, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, going to the beach, drives along the ocean, and celebrating holidays with her family and friends.

Mary was a member of the Exeter Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Barron of Brookline and her husband and four children; her step-son, Donald E. Coates, Jr. of Seabrook, NH; her step-daughter, Christina Coates and her husband Jacques Morrow of Salem, NH; and five grandchildren, Donald E. Coates, III, Olivia Coates, Noah Morrow, Penelope Morrow and Kassandra Morrow.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell Thursday from 10:00 until 11:30am followed by her Funeral Service at the Lowell Cemetery Chapel at 12:15pm.
