Matthew Kmon Obituary
age 82, of Methuen, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2022. Matt was the beloved husband of the late Josephine "Jojo" (Ficociello) Kmon, devoted father of Matthew M. Kmon, Jr. & wife Karol of Litchfield, NH, and Paula M. Sullivan & husband Scott of Methuen; loving "Papa" of Hayley Kmon & partner James McKenney, Lauryn Kmon & partner Matthew D'Ambrosio, Griffin Kmon, Ryan Sullivan & wife Ashley, Tyler Sullivan & partner Brian Isslebacher, and Devyn Fehmal & husband Matthew, great-grandfather of Sophia and Stella. Cherished son of the late Matthew and Catherine (Mucha) Kmon. Matt is also survived by his extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, May 13th for Visitation from 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA at 12:30 p.m. Burial with Military Honors in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Matthew's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Matt proudly served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired as the Laboratory Director for Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford after 47 years of dedicated service.
