Maurice R. Gauthier, age 72, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell. He was the loving husband of Lorraine A. (Pomerleau) Gauthier with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Maurice was born in Lowell, on September 17,1949 and was the son of the late Leo and Cecile (Lozeau) Gauthier.

He was educated in the Lowell school system and attended Lowell High School prior to enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After earning a Bronze Star and his honorable discharge, he began working as a millwright and carpenter. He later worked for many years as a jack of all trades at ECRM in North Andover.

In his free time, Maurice enjoyed working with his hands. Moe was always outside gardening, tending to his domesticated birds, and playing with his beloved dogs.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine A. (Pomerleau) Gauthier of Dracut, brother, Richard Gauthier and his wife Yvonne of Arkansas, sister, Jeannette Chavez and her husband Kleber of Dracut, mother-in-law, Therese Pomerleau of Lowell, sisters-in-law, Rachel Freni and her husband Richard of Billerica, Denise Cole and her partner Ben of Nashua, NH as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 8:45am to 10am at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd., DRACUT. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family. We met Moe going on 12 years ago and quickly became fast friends. Moe was a wonderful person, and a had a heart of gold! He was very much loved and we will truly miss him.
