Norman McKay Obituary

Norman J. McKay Éof Billerica, restaurateur; 67 BILLERICA - Norman J. "Blackie" McKay, 67, a lifelong Billerica resident and former restaurant owner in the area, died Monday, Sept. 1, at Lowell General Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Catherine (McLaughlin) McKay. He was born in Billerica on Nov. 15, 1935, a son of Martha (Dolliver) (McKay) Stygles of Billerica and the late Sterling McKay. Prior to his retirement, Mr. McKay was the owner of several local restaurants. He was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks 2071. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Gary and Deborah McKay of Billerica, Norman and Christine McKay of Dracut, and Robert and Lisa McKay of Hudson, N.H.; six daughters, Donna and her husband Robert Cashin of Bedford, Suzanne Bowden, Lisa and her husband Robert Kennedy, Kristie Duby, and Wendy McKay, all of Billerica, and Nadine Brown of Lowell; one brother, William McKay of Fla.; his stepfather, Joseph Stygles of Billerica. He also leaves his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Daniel and Joan McLaughlin; brothers, Joseph McLaughlin, Kerry McLaughlin, both of Billerica, and Kelly and Joe D'Errico of Peabody; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. McKay was also the brother of the late Frederick P. McKay.
