Normand Beland Obituary

Normand J. Beland, Sr. Lowell native, USO volunteer, Army vet; 68 STONEHAM Normand J. Beland, Sr., a Stoneham resident, and the beloved husband of Patricia M. (DiSessa) Beland, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 68. Normand was born in Lowell, on May 25, 1940, a son of the late Omer and Alice (Paradis) Beland. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School and the University of Lowell. He served in the U.S. Army during the early years of the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a software engineer. In recent years, he has worked for Dave L. Limousine, as well as volunteering many hours to the USO in Boston. Surviving him besides his wife, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Pauline Beland of Derry, NH, Normand, Jr. and Andrea Beland of Burlington; five grandchildren, Bryanna, Jason, Jessica, Rebecca, Michael; a brother and sister-in-law, Omer and Evon Beland of Magnolia, Gloucester, MA; a sister and brother-in-law, Anne Marie and Richard Trudel of Hudson, NH; two sisters-in-law, Diana Beland of Lowell, Constance Moretti of Stoneham; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Raymond J. Beland. BELAND Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth St., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Rita's Church. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
