Patricia Leao Obituary

Patricia R. Leao
of Pepperell

PEPPERELL -- On December 14, 2010 we lost one of the god's working angels on earth.

June 19,1955 a little baby girl was born to the proud parents of the late Daniel H. and Renata (Schoenitz) Brady. As part of a military family she was able to travel the world and live in Japan, Germany and see much of Europe, which would have a profound impact on her as an adult.

Her most treasured childhood memories were spending time in the flower gardens of Tante Senta, attending Sunday Mass with the Nuns in Germany, having tea with her Aunt Mary and watching the grand parades of the US Army.

Patty was the proud, loving and loyal wife of Alan Leao for 39 years. Their journey would start when Patty was 14 years old and Alan fresh from Brazil. Together with trust, confidence and vision they accomplished so much. Their home was the central point for so many celebrations and festivities amongst friends and family, but also of stabilizing people's lives with offers of hope and love.

Patty's life was built on pleasing people and making the world a better place. She was the founder of Pepperell Youth Soccer League and spent hundreds of hours in organizing and planning this league that still thrives today. Many times she would pull all nighters to complete projects for PYSL.

She enjoyed her days working at Phoenix Distributing Shirley, MA, Pepperell Home Center, Driving bus and most recently at NEBS/DELUXE Groton, MA. Patty earned tremendous respect from her work colleagues and inspired many to reach goals they thought not possible.

Besides being survived by her loving husband Alan O. Leao, she is also survived by her 2 children, Alan O. Leao, Jr. and his wife Julie and Michelle R Leao and her fiancé Sean McGrath and four Grandchildren Michael, Garrett, Ty and Anna all of Pepperell.

She leaves a treasure chest full of dear friends and family members including her brothers Robert Brady, Severna Park, MD, Richard Brady Tewksbury, MA and sister Ann Marie Butler Tamarack,FL.

Everything in Patty's life had meaning and she had a unique ability to feel someone's pain, but also their happiness as well. She loved the underdog, silent, lonely people and wanted to see them succeed. Her time and effort with strangers and friends alike was magical.

I work in Maryville, MO and have worked for Nebs/Deluxe with Patty for 30 years. When I traveled for the company I met Patty and talked with her on the phone all the time. She was always a cheery person and would call Maryville for help with an order. I also understand that Patty was an organ donor. This gives me great warmth as my husband is waiting for a kidney transplant. I was lucky to have know Patty she was a wonderful person. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

To Alan and the Leao family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Leao was a remarkable woman who gave so much of herself to others. I never knew that she founded PYSL! I bet that I was among the first kids to benefit from that some 30 years ago. It's clear from these tributes that she was greatly loved and will be missed by so many. We're thinking of you and praying that time brings you comfort and healing.

Patty I am so blessed to have known you for only a short time over this past year. It was such a shock for all of us to lose you. I remember having conversations with you outside and how you always had reassuring advice for me. You had a an aura about you a grace with which you carried yourself. I remember you telling me how you traveled around the world as a child how much you loved and adored your family. Talking with everyone at work I could only say that God must of had a deficit of angels. For surely he needed you now more than ever. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to your family. I will miss you but I have surely been blessed for knowing your kind spirit and generous person for even a short time.

Thankyou,

I miss Patty already. The thought of never seeing her again or hearing her laugh is overwhelming me! I'm so glad we got to "really talk" before I was laid off. Whenever I wanted answers or to see anything get accomplished I always went to Patty. She was definitely a "go to" person. Whenever I think of her I'll always hear her infectious laugh!
