Paul Galasso Obituary

Paul F Galasso Jr. of Lowell, active in baseball community; 56 LOWELL Paul Galasso Jr., 56, of Lowell, MA, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, after a hard fought four year battle with cancer. Paul enhanced the lives of all whom he came in contact with through his contagious positive attitude which he maintained right until the end. He also had an incredible knack of appreciating people at face value never being one to judge. Paul was employed at United Stationers in Woburn, MA, for over 14 years, where he left many good friends and fellow employees. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Paul was an avid sports fan with a love for baseball. He became known as an IKON around the local baseball diamonds, as an umpire, as well as an inspiration to athletic boards, coaches, umpire's in training, and most importantly, young athletes. Paul is survived by his wife, Bunna; son, Alex; daughter, Theara; parents, Paul Sr. and Barbara; brothers Dave and wife, Sue, Glenn and wife, Karen, Larry and wife, Erin; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends, please join us in a farewell celebration of Paul's life on Saturday, March 29 at 11 o'clock held at the Billerica, MA Elks Club, Webb Brook Rd. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in Paul's honor to the Billerica Little League, P. O. Box 267, Billerica, MA 01821.

He trained my son to be an umpire- he was the best- he had a special way with the kids. We will miss him in Billerica sports.
