He was born in Shanghai, China, on Dec. 9, 1946, son of the late Kit-Sze Yu and Sat-Tai Csee. He graduated from Hong Kong High School in 1963, and immigrated to the United States in 1976, living in New York City and Boston. before settling in Chelmsford. He resided in the North Chelmsford section of town.
Mr. Yu was employed as a bartender at the Grand Buffet Restaurant in Nashua. He was an avid sports fan.
Besides his wife, survivors include three daughters, Elaine Yu, Pricilla Yu and Jennifer Yu, all of Chelmsford; a sister, Yiu Siu Fung, living in China.
He also leaves his mother-in-law, Noyying Tam Kwan of Plymouth, N.H.; his father-in-law, Bing Muk Kwan of Oakland, Calif.; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bik Chung and her husband Myung Chung, Tsan Hui Kuan and his wife Yumei Kuan, all of Plymouth, N.H., and Pi Yuen Kwan of Hong Kong; also several nieces and nephews.
