Peter Chareas Obituary
Loving husband, father, and grandfather
TYNGSBORO -- Peter N. Chareas, 68, a well known businessman, died on October 22, 2011, at Lowell General Hospital.
He was the husband of Cathy (Lebaropoulos) Chareas.
Peter was born in Prostio, Greece on May 17, 1943. Before immigrating to the US, he served as a Merchant Marine in Greece.
Peter was the former owner of The Pines Pizza on Frost Road, Tyngsboro.
Besides his wife, Peter is also survived by his three sons, Nicholas, Zenny, and Steven; three daughters-in-law; and three grandsons. Also two brothers and two sisters of Greece. He also leaves behind many friends.
Peter's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Lowell General Hospital Oncology Department for all of the care provided.
CHAREAS -- Friends and family may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on Tuesday from 3 until 8 P.M. His Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11 A.M. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lewis Street, Lowell, MA 01854 or to the American Cancer Society at 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Cathy, Nick, Zenny & Steve
We were unable to attend the services but want to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Growing up on Madeline Terrace I spent alot of my youth eating at the Pines. I have a lot of fond memories of "hanging out at the Pines" with other kids from the neighborhood, playing the "Evil Knieval" pinball machine and getting into mischief. No matter how rowdy or disruptive we got, Peter always welcomed us into the restaurant. In my late teens I often took my girlfriend at the time (and current wife) Cindy French to the Pines for their famous Pressure Cooked Chicken. Some 30 years later Peter still affectionately called her "Frenchy" anytime we happened to cross paths, putting a smile on our faces at the memory of our formative years hanging out at the Pines.
We hope that our fond memory of your husband and father brings you some comfort during these difficult times.
