Richard R. Fadden
of Dracut, Marine Vet; 84

DRACUT -- Richard R. Fadden, 84, of Dracut, died peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2015, after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Gloria A. (McInerney) Fadden, with whom he shared 63 loving years of marriage.

Born in Lowell, on March 16, 1930, he was a son of the late Harold and Bella (Dupris) Fadden.

Richard was educated in the Dracut and Lowell school systems and was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1948, where he was involved in athletics.

He proudly served his country as a sergeant, in the United States Marines, during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged.

Prior to retirement, Richard was employed as a foreman at New England Telephone for 25 years.

Richard loved sports and was an avid golfer and a member of several local golf clubs. For several years, he was a proud participant in the Lowell City Golf Tournament representing Long Meadow. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Gary F. Fadden and his wife, Barbara of Hopedale, Kevin J. Fadden and his wife, Barbara and their children, Richard S., Kelly, Kara and Victoria of Concord, Michael J. Fadden and his wife, Laura and their children, Caitlin, Brendan and Griffin of Concord; Jane LaBrie and her husband, Michael, and their children, Michael Richard and Kristen of Lowell; three siblings, Elizabeth Campbell of Chelmsford, James Fadden and his wife, Karen of Marston Mills, and Patricia Tweed of Pine Island, FL; two sisters-in-law, Joan Fadden of Dracut, and Norma McNulty of South Carolina; a brother-in-law, David McInerney of FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his brother, Russell Fadden.

Gloria, Mike and Family,

I'm just hearing of Dick's passing and I'm so sorry. My condolences. He was a great man! I miss being at the office and seeing him working around outside. May he rest in peace. God bless his soul.

As a "Bouchard Ave kid", I have nice memories of Mr. Fadden. I particularly remember being six years old and getting a golf lesson from him on his front lawn! As an adult, I enjoyed chatting with him at Jimmy Keefe's store. A nice man. R.I.P.
