He was the beloved husband of Kathryn L. (Holden) Jackman.
He was born in Baltimore, Md., July 17, 1947, son of the late Richard S. and Clare (Dunn) Jackman. He received his master's degree from Ball State University in Indiana and his doctorate's degree in education from Boston University.
He was a fraternity member of Eta Sigma Gamma and Kappa Delta Phi from University of Massachusetts Lowell, formerly Lowell State.
He resided in Billerica for the past 32 years.
Before retiring, Mr. Jackman taught at Boston Latin School for 30 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kristene and Lisa Jackman, both of Billerica; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Henry Rich of Milton; and a niece and nephew, Kimberly and Michael Rich of Milton.
He is also survived by many lifelong friends and extended family.
He was also the brother of the late John J. Jackman.
