Richard McMahon Obituary

Richard J. 'Rich' McMahon of Lowell, Lucent Technologies worker; 48 LOWELL Richard J. "Rich" McMahon, 48 years, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at his home in Lowell. He was born in Brockton, the son of Rita C. (Prendergast) McMahon of Brockton, and the late Arthur McMahon. He was raised and educated in Brockton, and graduated from Brockton High School Class of 1976. Following graduation, he enlisted the U.S. Air Force. At the time of his death he was a computer network support engineer for Lucent Technologies in Westford. Rich's love for computers continued in his personal life and he was always ready to solve others computer problems. He was a sports enthusiast and particularly enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, John Marston and his wife, Linda of Sellersville, Pa.; his uncle, James J. Prendergast of Brockton; and his cousins, Sandy Good of Bridgewater, and Judy (Prendergast) Fishman of Brockton, and several other cousins. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123), Brockton, Monday at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish/St. Colman Church, Brockton at 9 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. I didn't know Rich well, but I do remember his wide sunny smile. I remember Rich from the long bus ride to BHS from the east side. The Class of 76 has lost another Eastie classmate. We will all miss your sunny smile.
