Robert McCourt Obituary
Robert F. McCourt, 91, longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Bridges by Epoch at Westford. He was the beloved husband of the late Marcia J. (Kerrigan) McCourt with whom he shared 46 years of marriage until her passing in 2002.
He was born in Somerville on March 1, 1931 and was a son of the late Daniel and Theresa (Clancy) McCourt.
Robert enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked for the telephone company, retiring from Verizon.
Robert is survived by his children, Patricia McCourt and Robert Kaknes of Chelmsford, Gail Knight and Scott Laurin of Lowell, Robert and Jennifer McCourt of Henniker, NH, Michael McCourt of CA, and Nancy and John Flynn of FL; his grandchildren, Trevor and Kelsey McCourt and their son Liam of NH, Joshua McCourt of NH, Sean McCourt of CA, and Jennifer and Julia Flynn of NH. He is also survived by his companion, Margaret Kelley of Cambridge.
Robert was sadly predeceased by his sisters, Rita Turosz, Mary McCourt, and Claire McCourt.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
