Roger "Hoppy" Castonguay born in Lowell; 72 TYNGSBORO, MA Roger "Hoppy" Castonguay, 72, of Tyngsboro, died Sunday at Willow Manor Nursing Home in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Eileen (Lecuyer) Castonguay. Born in Lowell on April 5, 1935, he was a son of the late Leo and Irene (LaCourse) Castonguay. He was educated in Dracut schools. He worked as a heavy machine operator for Pomerleau Brothers in Westford, MA and then for Drum Hill Construction in Chelmsford until his retirement. He was also a special police officer for the town of Tyngsboro. Mr. Castonguay loved NASCAR racing, camping, and was a classic car enthusiast. He was also an amateur race car driver. Mr. Castonguay leaves a son Raymond Castonguay and his wife Joyan of Tyngsboro; a daughter Lori Kanan and her husband Ken of Nashua, NH; a brother Leo R. Castonguay Jr. and his wife Sheilah of Florida; four step grandchildren Michael McCelland, Raymond Rondeau, Sarena Rondeau, and Natalia Rondeau; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut.
