LITCHFIELD, NH -- Scott Nichols, 42, of Litchfield, NH, formerly of Chelmsford, MA died unexpectedly Monday, December 29, 2014, at the Lowell General Hospital.
Born in Melrose, MA on March 13, 1972, he was a son of Russell and Maria Nichols of Litchfield, NH. He graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1991. He attended Microsoft School of Nashua, NH.
Scott owned and operated True Colors Custom Coatings of Litchfield, NH. He previously worked for Nichols Painting & Custom Coatings.
Scott enjoyed spending time with his family and four wheeling. He also enjoyed "Picking".
Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Michelle Nichols of Litchfield, NH and a son Joseph Nichols of Tyngsboro, MA; a sister, Kimberly Nichols of Litchfield, NH; two brothers, Russell and Timothy Nichols both of Ocoee, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Dear Nichols family, There are no adequate words that I could write to ease your pain from the sudden loss of your son and your brother. Death sucks for the living. It just does. I hope that you all hold each other a little closer and remember all the best of Scott's time on this Earth. I lost a child. It's been a few years since I've talked to Scott. 2012 to be exact and it was mostly to see if Bella, Michelle, and him could join me at PAX. We met through Bella and video games, shared stories about raising kids, style sheets (programming) and comic books. Okay, he talked about comic books and I listened. I love his daughter like she is my own and forever her and her family will share a special place in my heart. I'm deeply saddened by this news. Like others, I'm finding comfort in the short time we were able to share with each other, the memories and laughs, and I am extremely grateful I had the opportunity to meet him in person. He loved his children more than anything and it shows in how incredible they both are. Scott, you are no longer with us physically, but you will live in those who had the honor to know you. Rest in Peace, my dear nerd friend. <3

Scott was like an uncle to my brother and I growing up. Even after moving to NC, he'd often message us to see how we were doing. I know he'll be missed by many.

Scott used to come to my house in Gainesville and spend time with my children Matt and Stacy. That was back in the days when they were spinning on cardboard. I still have some pictures from a party they attended for my daughter. Scott was such a well behaved young man. As a matter of fact he came from a wonderful family. I enjoyed being friends with him on Facebook and connecting after all this time. I looked forward to his rants. LOL My condolences to all of you. He lives on through his daughter.
