Shirley Hughes Obituary

Shirley A. Hughes enjoyed Bingo, reading; 68 Lowell Shirley A. (Zinck) Hughes, 68, of Lowell, died Thursday, June 19, at Radius Northwood Health Care Center after a long illness. She was the wife of Harry Hughes, with whom she would have celebrated their Forty Ninth Wedding Anniversary on June 21. A daughter of the late Wilbur and the late Stella (Paquette) Zinck, she was born September 29, 1939 in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School in 1958. She made her lifelong home in Lowell, and worked for Grace Shoe Company in the 1980's. She also worked at Capitol Warehouse as a Clerk before her retirement. She was a member of the Salvation Army Sage Club, and enjoyed Bingo, reading, and going out with her friends, especially to dinner and the movies. Shirley will be missed by relatives and friends who were lucky to have had their lives touched and inspired by such a loving and giving person. In addition to her husband, Harry, she is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Stinson and her husband, Chris, of Lowell; her close friend, Mary Harrington; and her circle of friends and acquaintances. She was the loving owner of the family dog 'Bobby' who passed away in April.
