Teresa N. Clark

Teresa N. Clark retired Haverhill schoolteacher; 87 HAVERHILL Teresa N. (Kennedy) Clark, age 87, of Haverhill's Bradford, MA, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Clark who died in 1998. Teresa was born in Haverhill, MA, on August 13, 1920, the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Mary (Hanley) Kennedy. Teresa was a graduate and valedictorian of St. James High School, Class of 1937. Teresa went on to receive her degree in Elementary Education from Lowell State Teacher's College in 1941. Her teaching career included positions in Windsor, VT, Winthrop, MA, and Haverhill, where she enjoyed a lenghty career inspiring several generations of children. She was an active member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford, where she had been involved with Catholic Daughters and CCD classes. She is survived by three sons, Joseph Clark and wife, Janice of Hopkinton, Thomas Clark and wife, Patricia of Dedham, John Clark and wife, Diana of North Andover; 3 daughters, Teresa Gillis of Milford, MA, Patricia Heiss and husband, Thomas of Winthrop, Maine, Kathleen Frieswick and husband, William of Haverhill; and 14 grandchildren; Nathan Jacki, and Megan Clark, Matthew, Mary and Patrick Gillis, Jennifer Hack, Victoria, Liam and Tess Frieswick, Laura Lewis, and Benjamin, Jonathan and David Heiss; and one great-grandson, Richard Gillis, and survived by her sister-in-law, Mary K. Kennedy of Haverhill; and brother-in-laws, William and Robert Clark of Dover, NH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother, Mary E. Kennedy and John B. Kennedy, and grandson Timothy Clark. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, and spending time with her children, and grandchildren. CLARK Teresa N. (Kennedy). Rogers and Sons Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, will be Monday, April 7th at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Hearts Church, Haverhill at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Teresa's memory may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
