Thomas Torrisi Obituary

Thomas Torrisi
formerly of Lowell; 51

NAPLES, FL -- Thomas Torrisi, 51, died suddenly Thursday October 27th in Ames, Iowa.

Born in Lowell, MA on February 21st, 1960, Tom was the son of the late James and Stephanie (Wewiorski) Torrisi and brother of the late John Torrisi. He was educated in Lowell and attended the University of Maine.

For the past 7 years, Tom worked as a Coach Bus Driver for Roberts Brothers out of Springfield, TN. He had the privilege of driving various musicians all across the country, and enjoyed what he did. Prior to that, he worked as a Personal Trainer for Gold's Gym in Naples, FL.

Not only did Tom enjoy his job as a star bus driver, he was the happiest when cruising his Harley. He was appreciated for his intelligence and sharp sense of humor. He particularly loved his Schnauzers, but his greatest pride and joy came from his 15-year-old daughter, Elizabeth whom he loved so much.

Tom is survived and will be deeply missed by his beloved daughter Elizabeth Torrisi and his ex-wife Diane (Aultz) both of Naples, FL, his brother, Jim Torrisi and his wife Andrea of Winchendon, MA and his sister Carol Gagne and her husband Roland of Dracut. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by many friends in Florida, Massachusetts and Tennessee.

There are people talking and WONDERING...Will there be any sort of Celebration of Tom's life, here in Naples??? My wife and I are more then willing to help in any manner possible. There are alot of us wondering, but no one seems to know the answer. I'm afraid that if much more time passes, so will the opportunity to celebrate the man we all loved so much. I read these posts and they make me smile. I want to do something for him in Naples...He Deserves That! [email protected]

Elizabeth, Diane, Jim and Carol,

Tommy was my trainer at Golds Gym for 5 years and through our time together he became more than my trainer he was my friend. I loved his amazing sense of humor, the warmth by which he greeting everyone and his ability to have a strong connection with everyone he met. If it wasn't for Tom I would not have met my dearest friend, I owe that to him. Elizabeth I remember like yesterday how much he looked forward to seeing you when you where living overseas. When he returned he always would tell anyone who would listen how great you were doing and how proud he was of you. I loved watching his face light up whenever he mentioned you. I am truly sadden by his passing and know that this world will not be the same without him. He told me he was happy driving his bus around the country and having the opportunity to meet alot of great artists and people. I will miss knowing he is out there but know he will be looking after all of us who knew him here on earth.

Elizabeth, Diane, Jim and Carol,

Tommy and I (and his dog Taboo) “moved” to California in 1981…..30 years later I am still out here and forever indebted to my friend. His humor and selflessness kept us going across country from Massachusetts and got us through those first few months that we couldn't find work. When Tommy started working first, he shared with me what was his until I was able to find a job. All of us from the Gage Field crowd will always love him like a brother and I will never forget our true friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

Tommy Torrisi, as you enter through the gates may Eddie be there with a big hug and smile to greet you. He was always telling me stories of "back in the day" and of course "The Golf Cart" at our wedding. You and Eddie will have alot to talk about. God Bless You, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you family!

Tom was a good friend and a great individual. He brightened up any gym and I was lucky enough to have him teach me the ropes at my first major gym employment. His sense of humor was only surpassed by his dedication to treating people with dignity and respect where ever he happened to be. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his daughter and family. I can continue with many stories of my time with Tom, but suffice it to say he was a mentor to me in my personal training and the only one I would trust to take care of a client like it was his own family. See you on the other side my friend.

Behind the hulk & bulk and Tom's lengthy beard, was one of earth's kindest, most gentle individuals you could ever meet. Tom, your sense of humor, your wonderful laugh and the smiles you always put on me and Donna's faces will sorely be missed. May the wind blow freely on your face as you ride your Harley through the gates of Heaven. God Bless you my friend!
