William G. 'Russ' Richardson
of Salem, NH, Air Force Vet; 70

SALEM, NH -- William G. "Russ" Richardson, 70, of Salem, NH, died Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.

Russ was born and educated in Lynn, MA the son of the late Hazel (Hopper) and Charles Richardson. He later moved to Reading, MA and he graduated from Reading High School. Russ served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was facilities director for the Kelley Library until his retirement.

He enjoyed photography, gardening, and traveling to Northern NH. He was a member of the International Council of the Order of DeMolay, he was politically active in Salem, he supported the ACLU and the NH Environmental Association.

He had a caring heart which reached out to those in need and touched many lives.

He is survived by his step-daughters, Deborah Gagnon and husband, Stephen of Salem, NH, and Juliana Bent and husband, Weston of Nashua, NH, his former wife and best friend, Janet Richardson of Ft. Meyers, FL; and many friends.

RICHARDSON -- Visitation will be Saturday, October 3rd from 2:00 - 4:30 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. There is no funeral service. Memorial contributions in Russ' name may be made to: Kelley Library, 234 Main St, Salem, NH 03079.
