Craig Forrester passed away on Aug. 24, 2024, at the age of 66. Craig was born on Jan. 21, 1958, in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Craig enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at Hiler Industries, beginning as an iron pourer and eventually moving to a pattern shop, where he found great satisfaction in his work.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Candace Forrester, with whom he shared a heart and mind, and his only child, daughter Danielle Forrester. He also leaves behind his dear mother, Janice Gauger; and four well-loved siblings, Cathy Gussman (Jim), Dana Magidson, Dawn Garrett (Bryant) and Steven Forrester (Monique); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Forrester.
Craig had a passion for computers long before they became common. He was a 45-year guitar player and loved to ride his Harley. In his later years, he did 3D printing, smoked fabulous meats, learned to solder and made electronic gadgets all around the house.
Craig was an excited and driven tinkerer. Known for his quick shifts from a serious and pragmatic demeanor to a playful side that never failed to surprise and amuse his family and friends, Craig was an amazing man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
