Dale Fredrick Stewart, age 95, of Hoschton, Georgia, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton after a short illness.
Dale received his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado University, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from CalTech.
Early in his career, he worked with Hughes Aviation, where he saw the Spruce Goose fly and was able to meet Howard Hughes.
He loved the field of computing, working as a Data Center Manager and later as the Director of Data Processing at Purdue University North Central, from which he retired. He also taught classes on programming and networking.
After retirement, he and his wife of 42 years worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators for more than a dozen years. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ above everything else, and was looking forward to eternity in heaven.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Stewart of Georgia; sons, Jono Stewart of New Mexico, Jim Stewart and wife, Amitee, of Oregon, and Thom Keeton and wife, Jenica, of Alaska; daughters, Sharon Cox and husband, David, of Illinois, Amy Wagner and husband, Mark, and Joyce Keeton, all of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
