David Shepperson Obituary

David (Shep) Shepperson, 66, of Michigan City passed away peacefully at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Regency Hospital, Portage.

He was born June 21, 1955, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Thomas Roy and Maureen (Glassman) Shepperson.

Shep was a simple man who enjoyed the simpler things in life. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Michigan City. Shep was an avid NASCAR fan. He recently retired from the Maintenance Department from Michigan City Area Schools.

Surviving are his two siblings, Sherri (Wally) Kempf and Mike (Sarah) Shepperson, both of Michigan City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding in death were his parents.

A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1237 E. Coolspring Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor David Solum officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, La Porte, 219-362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.

My prayers and condolences to the family and friends, I missed Shepp since he retired last year from the schools, he was always kind to me and I'm glad he got to retire.He got emotional at the retirement party and it touched me.I'm sure he's in heaven now.
