Deanna West Obituary
Deanna C West, 76, of Michigan City passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, at Franciscan Health Michigan City.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home.
Deanna was born on the shore of Lake Michigan in Michigan on Nov. 23, 1946, to the late James L. and Irene (Spooner) Branson.
On March 29, 1993, in Michigan City she married the love of her life Dan West, who is surviving in Michigan City.
Also surviving are four children, Matthew (Natalie) Hapke, Dan (Quinn) West Jr., Russell (Daniel Wolters) Hapke and Denitta (Richard) Newenhouse; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Ted, Victor and Joe Branson; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Branson.
Deanna created the webpages for the La Porte County Cemetery and Research Organization and was very active in helping Berrien County with their genealogical society. She loved music, singing with her beautiful voice and spending time boating on her beloved Lake Michigan. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
