Dennis Cox Obituary

Dennis D. Cox, age 77, of Michigan City passed away unexpectedly Jan. 10, 2023, in Michigan City, Indiana. Dennis was born on June 29, 1945, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Loys and Verneta (Black) Cox, who preceded him in death.

He was happily and devotedly married to the love of his life, Carol Grace (Messina) Cox, for 56 years. Carol precedes him in death.

Dennis is survived by his wonderful children, Jennifer (Jeff) Riley and David (Kimberly) Cox; grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) Talamantes and Jason Riley; great-grandchildren, Ledger and Lucia; brother-in-law, Daniel Messina; and countless treasured friends. Dennis was also preceded in death by his grandson, Trevor Cox; brothers, Glenn, Norm and Phil; and sisters, Louise and Doris.

Dennis loved the Lord and was very involved as a member of the Michigan City Christian Church. He was a proud U.S. veteran who served in the Army for two years. Dennis was a Disney fanatic and also a Disney Vacation Club member. His family came first and he loved being a part of his children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives in every aspect. He took care of everyone around him.

Dennis was a loving protector and provider. He retired after 31 years at McGill in Valparaiso, Indiana. Dennis loved gardening and caring for his pristine lawn. He was proud of his koi fish pond and was a lifelong Cubs fan. Dennis will be dearly missed by all who were blessed enough to have known him.

In lieu of flowers, please make any memorial donations to the Michigan City Christian Church, 11232 Earl Road, Michigan City, IN, 46360.

Dennis was a great guy to work with, a follower of Jesus and I am sure his family will miss him greatly as he is welcomed by the Lord Jesus. Good job Dennis.

I am so sad to here of Dennis passing. We went through most of the high school years together. He was always a standup young man with a great sense of humor and honesty. He will be truly missed.
