Eileen Borglin, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in New Buffalo, Michigan, at the age of 96.
Born on July 1, 1929, in Michigan City, Indiana, Eileen was the cherished daughter of Hazel (Sieben) and Henry Kintzele.
Eileen's life was marked by love and devotion to her family. She married her beloved husband Richard Borglin on Nov. 19, 1949, and their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together they navigated life's challenges and joys, building a family that would be the center of Eileen's world.
Sadly, Eileen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard; their infant son, Kirk; and her siblings, sisters Marjorie Pawloski and Dorothy Kintzele, as well as brothers Henry, Russell and James Kintzele. Their memories were forever cherished in her heart, shaping the compassionate and resilient woman she became.
Eileen is survived by her three devoted sons, Mel (Becky) Borglin of New Buffalo, Allen (Sandy) Borglin of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Kevin (Connie) Borglin of New Buffalo. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom carried a piece of her spirit and love. Eileen's family was the pride of her life, and she was known for her unwavering support and kindness. She was an amazing and loving matriarch who would do anything for her family, always putting their need above her own.
In honoring Eileen's request, a private funeral service, reflecting her humble nature and the love she held for her family, will be held. Memorial contributions in Eileen's memory may be made to St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, Michigan.
As we remember Eileen Borglin, let us rejoice in the beautiful life she led, the love she shared and the countless lives she touched. May her spirit guide us, inspire us, and remind us of the importance of love, family and kindness. Eileen will forever be in our hearts.

Condolences and sympathy to the entire Borglin family My grandfather Joseph Kintzele and Eileen“s father Henry Kintzele were brothers. I have some vague memories of Eileen when I was no more than four or five and she was probably in her teens at family gatherings, weddings, etc. Reading the obituary tells me the family members of that generation are now all gone. That generation was quite prolific! Somewhere in my possession is a genealogy Marjorie had put together. Sorry I did not get to know her better...my loss.

I called Eileen, " The bluebird of happiness." She was one of the happiest people I had the pleasure of knowing. She LOVED her family and was SO proud of them! She was SO grateful for any small gift or kindness done for her. I enjoyed her reminiscing about her growing up years. She was a special lady who showed strength. She certainly had a life well lived! God be with you, Aunt Eileen. ( Barb Kintzele)
