Florence "Flo" M. (Grabias) Doster, age 90, of Long Beach, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie (Tom) Thomas and Andrea (Dan) Sells; three grandchildren, Rhiggs Thomas, Emma Sells and Lia Thomas; and her dear friends.
Flo was born on Sept. 29, 1934, in Mayfield, Pennsylvania, to Andrew and Julia (Ostrowski) Grabias, who have preceded her in death. She was raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of Liberty High School. She was an executive secretary in the Department of Real Estate, Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
She met the love of her life, Steve Doster in Pennsylvania. They got married on Aug. 31, 1957, and soon after moved to Baltimore, Maryland, to start their life and family. The Doster's put their roots down in the Michigan City area in 1970, settling in Long Beach, a community they loved.
Flo has been a longtime and faithful member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer at Long Beach Country Club, volunteered many hours at Long Beach Elementary School and was a member of Tri-Kappa.
She enjoyed traveling the country and seeing the sights. Flo was most passionate about her grandchildren, supporting them in any way possible, and attending all of their school and personal events. Spending time with her family was precious to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Doster; and siblings, Carl Grabias and Marion Grabias. Flo will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
