Frank Robert Buss, 80, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away on April 30, 2023. He was born on Feb. 7, 1943.
Frank served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his dedication and commitment to his country.
Following his military service, Frank pursued a career as an outdoor lineman for NIPSCO. He was known for his hard work and dedication to providing reliable power to the community.
Frank was a member of Agape Christian Church in La Porte, Indiana, where he found solace and strength in his faith. He cherished the community and fellowship he found there.
In his free time, Frank enjoyed being an active member of the Rolling Prairie community. He served as a former Scout master for the Rolling Prairie Boy Scouts and was a founding member of the Rolling Prairie Conservation Club. Frank had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jasmine Q. Buss; and their children, Paul Leonhardt (Paula), Robert A Buchwalter-Buss, Brande Buss Rash (Chris) and Elliot F Buss. He is also survived by his sister, Vicki L. Buss (Marta J Halter); and his sister-in-law, Susie Longardner Buss; grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank O. Buss and May-Etta (Littleton) Buss-Mitchell; and his brother, Jon L. Buss.
A ceremony celebrating Frank's life was held May 12 for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Frank's memory to a charitable organization of your choice.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country and his community. His legacy of hard work, faith and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
