Kevin J. Martinsen, 64, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
Kevin was born July 24, 1957, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Walter and Barbara (New) Martinsen.
On June 28, 1986, Kevin married Susan (Ekstrom), who survives.
Kevin received his Bachelor's degree from Indiana University and his Master's degree from Aurora University. Kevin was a project manager for NIPSCO and retired in 2019. He was an elder and helped with finances at The Presbyterian Church of La Porte. Kevin and his wife enjoyed fostering dogs and have rescued over 200 puppies.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Susan; and their dogs, Abby Rose and Haley; brothers, Greg (Carolyn) Martinsen of Chicago, Illinois, and Scott (Beverly) Martinsen of La Porte, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Joseph (Jackie) Martinsen, Meghan (Joe) Jongkind, Valerie (Jason) Seifert, Ben (Alex) Martinsen, Courtney (Matt) Downs, Jason Vines, Nicholas (Siobhan) Ginther, Tod (Jessica) Martinsen, Jason (Adrienne) Martinsen, James (Karin) Murphy, and Rob Murphy; sister-in-law, Nancy Murphy; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2022, at The Presbyterian Church of La Porte, 307 Kingsbury Ave., La Porte, Indiana, where a Memorial service will be held immediately after at 11 a.m. Pastor Jane Anabe will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, in La Porte, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W. State Road 2, La Porte, IN, 46350.
