On the afternoon of Feb. 27 at 3:35 p.m., heaven gained another angel. Kristine Hunsley lost her battle at the age of 58 with endometrial cancer, but those of you that know her know she went out fighting.
In August of 2022, she was diagnosed and immediately, being the warrior she was, her toughest battle began. Throughout her fight she was surrounded and nurtured by her loved ones until the very end.
Kristine was a devout Christian and took an immense amount of pride in service work. she did life altering work for Indiana Abolitionists, Operation Save America, Hoosiers for Life, and helped to establish the Northern Indiana Abolitionists.
She not only advocated for the unborn children of the world, but she was an amazing mother and Buscia to her own family.
Kristine was survived by her husband, Gary Hunsley; and two daughters, Lindsay Daniel and Kirby Lloyd; and her most precious gifts, her grandchildren, Enalise, Brysen, Esme, Reese, Delaney, Lexus, Micah, De'Sean and Braelon. Also, by her bonus grandchildren, Jayla and Grant. She was also survived by brother, Jay Zimny (Karri); sister, Kara Kuehnel (Jeff); and nieces, Kaylan, Aubree and Julia.
Kristine was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Sharon Zimny; and her son-in-law, Brandon Daniel.
She embraced graciously the role of matriarch of the family, and her wings protected and guided anyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. Even in her weakest moments throughout her battle, she knew she walked with God, which in return, offered hope to those around her until the very end.
Kristine was born on Aug. 1, 1964, and raised in Hobart, Indiana. She was Brickie through and through. Kristine's gypsy lifestyle as an adolescent and in early adulthood guided her toward the path of Christ in her later years, and becoming a Buscia gave her the love she needed to heal and fully embrace the love of God.
Kristine's viewing is scheduled for March 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. (CT) and her funeral is March 11 at 11 a.m. (CT) at the Lighthouse Village Church of God, located at 18459 U.S. 12 in New Buffalo, Michigan, 49117.
The Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

So very sad to hear of Kris's passing. She was such a warrior. Our family continues to get smaller and smaller, breaks our hearts. Prayers of comfort to her family and friends. In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our cousin, who has joined you at that eternal banquet feast. In this life you embraced her with your tender love; deliver her now from every evil and bid her eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome her into paradise, where she will join the family who have gone before her, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen. Prayers for comfort and peace for you and the rest of the family ❤ Your cousins The Jones's

I shall always remember Kristine as passionately devoted in every way that she lived her life - as a wife and mother and grandmother, as a friend, as a defender of the unborn and the elderly and disabled and all whose lives need defending, and as a witness for Jesus and a prayer warrior. I am so thankful to have known her, and thankful for her crown of glory now.
