We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of former Mayor Robert Behler, 84, on Dec. 4, 2024. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his residence in California.
His family is bringing him home, to Michigan City, Indiana, in early spring and are planning to honor him with a Mass at St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial of ashes, with full military honors, at Greenwood Cemetery. An official obituary with details of all arrangements will follow at a later date. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.

Just found out today Bob has passed away I'm so saddened. Bob was a really good friend to me he was my platoon Sgt. Our 1st Sgt. And he was my boss for several yrs helped me out in bad times I could always talk to him about anything and he always gave me the best advice as he could . And he was tough on me . When I needed it . My heart goes out to his family . Bob will always be one of the biggest influences in my life . God speed sarge . You will be missed

Sorry to hear of Bob B's passing. He and my brother Bobby Pahs were great friends and my being 7 years younger, I watched their antics thru the years. They and pals drove to Florida after high school graduation for adventure and when they returned they arrived at our farm throwing firecrackers out the car windows. Classic.
You had a full life Bob. Rest in peace.
