Roland T. Robbins, 82, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at 2:08 a.m. in Franciscan Health Michigan City.
Private services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
He was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Elroy and Jeanette (Weatherbee) Robbins. On Jan. 13, 1960, in Denver, Colorado, he married Judith Shudorick, who survives in Michigan City, Indiana.
Also surviving are son, Gregory Robbins of Michigan City, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kriston Robbins, Wayne Robbins, Jr. and Ashley (Max) Hernandez; two great-grandchildren, Ryland Robbins and Xavier Hernandez; brother, Duane (Judy) Robbins of Michigan City, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Wayne Robbins, Sr.; and two sisters, Margaret Clifford and Betty White.
Roland retired after 36 years as a heavy equipment mechanic at Weil-McLain, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved life and enjoyed fishing, hunting and helping others.
