Ruth Eleanor Faulstich, 96, of La Porte passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Comfort Place in Mishawaka, Indiana.
She was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Loran Earl and Adeline Inez (Cochran) McCormick. Ruth worked for Howmet for 31 years as an assembler in the wax department, retiring in 1991. She came to La Porte in 1943 and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Ruth loved flower gardening and especially loved roses. She was an excellent seamstress and made countless dresses, prom dresses, dresses for her yard goose and also made dresses and clothes that she donated to other countries when there was a need.
Ruth had a passion for round barns and she has traveled to every state except Hawaii. She also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles as well as watching the birds and feeding the hummingbirds. She was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
On Dec. 13, 1947, in Hesston, Indiana, she married George Faulstich, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kay Keller of Newburgh, Indiana, Georgette (Dennis) Behenna of La Porte, Indiana, and Roberta J. Marrapode of La Porte, Indiana; son, Phillip E. Faulstich of La Porte, Indiana; two sisters, Linda Shortt of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, and Nancy McCormick of La Porte, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Loran Earl McCormick Sr. of La Porte, Indiana; mother, Adeline Inez McCormick; sisters, Marilyn Jean McCormick, Evelyn Harness, Joan Erickson and Vera (Peg) Wroblewski; and brothers, Loran E. McCormick Jr., John (Jack) McCormick, Searl McCormick and Joe McCormick.
Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana, is in charge of services. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating. Burial to take place at Lamb's Chapel Cemetery in La Porte.
