Sandra Sue (Cady) Hixon, age 83, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 9, 1941, in La Porte, Indiana, to William Francis and Thelma (Schumaker) Cady, who both preceded her in death.
On May 19, 1962, she married Julian Verne Hixon (Skip). They enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage prior to his death.
Sandra is survived by her children, Steven (Lora) Hixon, Trudy Cross and Paula (Stephen) Jasinski; her grandchildren, Molly (Josh) Westphal, Marissa (Josh) Mifflin, Kristen Jasinski and Thomas Cross; her great-grandson, Noah Mifflin; and brother, Dennis (Mary Lou) Cady.
Sandra was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and later the Springville Community Church. She was a member of the Michiana Lions Club and adored giving out dictionaries to the grade school students. She loved to sew, read and do crafts. She loved to travel and had many adventures driving all over the United States with her family. Later she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren at ranches out west riding horses. Sandra had a special love for her collies, Reggie and Ralphie, who were her faithful companions after her husband's passing.
Wonderful experiences and memories will live forever in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
Friends may visit with the family at Springville Community Church, located at 5244 State Road 39, La Porte, Indiana, 46350, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9 a.m. to time of service at 11 a.m.

Sandra was a special person and anytime I ran into her and Vern, she always had a smile on her face. I wish her family well during this time of grief.
