Timothy J. Bennett, age 70, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at his home.
Tim was born on April 7, 1951, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Theodore and Josephine (Pascarella) Bennett. Both parents have preceded him in death.
On Sept. 8, 1979, he married Jeanne (Dingler) Bennett, who resides in Michigan City.
He is also survived by his two children, Stacy Bennett and Laura (Steven) Lohse; one grandchild, Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Christine Bennett.
He was a Purdue graduate and a member of the St. Joe Young Men's Society. He and his parents took pride in building Bennett's Motel, which operated for several years. He enjoyed snowmobiling and antique John Deere Tractors. He was a big supporter of the American Red Cross, donating more than 30 gallons of blood throughout his life. He loved nature and wildlife, especially birds, and would always make sure to keep them fed throughout the year. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Feb 8, 2022, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN, 46360.
Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, with Pastor William Fine officiating.

Jeanne, our deepest sympathy to you and your family. I enjoyed knowing Tim through QAS and working with him at the Post Office. He was sweet, kind man with an endearing smile and laugh. May your lovely memories help bring you comfort.
