Valerie Ann Gazarkiewicz, age 66, passed away on July 13, 2024, in the presence of her loving family, after her 16-month battle with lung cancer.
Valerie was born on Jan. 8, 1958, to Eugene and Frances (Jahnz) Gazarkiewicz.
She is survived by her mother and her three children, Jacob, Danielle (Carl) and Alexis.
She greatly loved her two grandchildren, Lillian and Roland.
Valerie is also survived by her five siblings, Dr. Joseph (Kelly), Antoinette (Steven), Patrick (Eric), Paula and Kristen (Carl); and her two nieces and two nephews.
Valerie always led with love and kindness.
She always put others first, especially her children. A few of her favorite things include "Real Housewives" and ID shows, '80s music, orange Lifesaver mints and Angel perfume.
Valerie will be remembered for her spitfire personality, sharp sense of humor, spirituality, huge heart, vibrant red hair, and most importantly, her love for her children and grandchildren. Valerie's courage, selflessness, determination and love will forever live on. Fly high, our beautiful angel.
Valerie's Celebration of Life mass will be held on Aug. 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church on 1506 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

I am so sorry to here of Valerie's passing. Her family grew up near us on Greenwood Ave and Johnson Rd. Valerie was shy and kind so we're her siblings...many prayers and condolences.
