Kari, I want to extend my sincerest sympathy for your loss. I worked with Brian many years while he was in Underwriting at Auto-Owners and thoroughly enjoyed working with him. He talked about you and the kids very often and obviously you were all very close to his heart. Brian always brought a smile to my face and I will miss him greatly. I pray that you and your precious family will find peace and comfort in these difficult times.

I worked next to your father when he was a PIP adjustor around 2 years ago. He was a good friend and someone I would often laugh with. I can remember him showing off your back to school pictures one year while you were standing on your deck at home. You are all beautiful. He spoke so highly of you and loved all of you very much. I am deeply sorry for your loss and the emptiness you are feeling. Although we have never met, I wanted to reach out to you and let you know how much he talked about all of you. You were his pride and joy; his life.

Dear Kari,
I never had the chance to meet you or the kids. I loved Brian, and we all miss him here at work. He was a bright spot in my horizon. I wrote the following in his memory. - Bob Kamp
My flower
Just outside my window
a lovely flower grew,
with long and sturdy stem;
with bright and radiant hue.
How it came to be there?
I did not see it grow,
but oh so glad to have it there
to bask inside its glow.
Not only fine to gaze upon,
but its sweetly fragrant smell,
blessed me in these simple ways
and other folks as well.
On sunny days my flower blazed,
glorious and bright;
charming me with splendor,
reflecting warmth and light.
On stormy days my flower swayed,
exhibiting true brilliance,
by bending in adversity;
a model of resilience.
If my day were dark or sad,
I could take some cheer
to look upon my flower
and see it standing there.
My world had brighter outlook,
for the window I looked through - -
no matter trouble farther off - -
had beauty in the view.
My flower taught me how to live.
Be cheerful, bright, and strong,
flexible in adversity,
whatever comes along.
Our time down here is fleeting,
so remember as you live,
it doesn't matter what you take;
it matters what you give.
One day I looked and found you gone.
Why? I can't explain.
-except to think God's window
needed a flower for its frame.
