As Carolyn Stieber's graduate assistant in the MSU Ombudsman's office for many years, I regard her as the best mentor one could ever have. An exceptional woman. My condolences to Allison and Joan.

Dear Joan and Allison,
My heart goes out to you at this very sad time. I know how much your mother meant to you and I know how appreciative she must of been of all you did and how much she loved you. Please know you are in my thoughts. Lisa

Mrs. Stieber was a wonderful woman. I had the pleasure of knowing her for over 25 years by being her hairdresser. She was kind, gratuitous ,warm, private, and a bit stubborn. I had the utmost respect for her preservernce in any situation from her losing her sister, her beloved Jack, and her love and concern for her girls Allison and Joan. I adored her and will miss her and am a better person for knowing her. Rest in Peace

Dear Allison and Joan,
There you must be in Michigan, tending to your Mother's end of life issues. I know how very important your parents were to both of you. I pray for each of them and for you both. I trust that you had done the best you could in the last few years. Your Mother will be missed in this world. She and your Dad made you uniquely qualified to carry on after passing. It will always be difficult to be without them. Your love and devotion will not be forgotten. Please feel my presence with you at this time. May Carolyn rest in peace and be remembered always.

On behalf of many in the Ombuds community we send our condolences to the family, friends and colleagues that were touched by Carolyn's life & legacy.
We, as a profession, owe much to Carolyn. Carolyn wrote many articles on the profession, was a past President for UCOA (one of the precursors to the current International Ombudsman Association)and served her institution for many years.
May those that were touched by her life find comfort and peace in memories of Carolyn.

A wonderful lady, I was privileged to be one other students, in addition I had the pleasure of interacting with her in her position as ombudsman. She was one of my favorite professors and always fair minded and very understanding as the University Ombudsman. She will be missed and was a wonderful lady. I will always grateful for having known her.
