Growing up on Catherine St., Don and his sisters (and Sandy!) were my best friends. Of course, we didn't call him Don then!! I can remember him at a very young age playing with me in our sandbox. Once, as a teen, I was in the dumps about something, so Don brought me flowers and took me to dinner at Dines, which was about the fanciest restaurant in town back then. I'd never been to such a place, was very impressed, and loved him even more for taking care of me. Rest in peace my good friend. I'm happy you've had such a fulfilling life.

Donald was my best friend for many of the more than fifty years we knew each other. We traveled extensively throughout the US, including Hawaii. We grew apart over the latter years, but he was always in my thoughts. It was a pleasure knowing him and his family. Edmund Mack
