Edwin Curtis Cox

St. Johns - Edwin Curtis Cox, 93 St. Johns, MI passed away surrounded by his family on June 11, 2021. Ed was born October 13, 1927 in St. Louis City, MO to Ruth W. Green and Francis G. Cox.

Ed served in the Army stationed in Korea. Upon returning home after serving his country he married Phyllis L. Parker, together they raised 8 children.

Ed worked for Kurt's Appliance. After his retirement he started his own business, Ed's TV Service. Ed valued education, he earned a pilot's license as well as a degree from Lansing Community College. Often Ed would sponsor softball, volleyball and bowling leagues in the community. He loved cars and would visit the Midland Car Show. He was so proud of the Model T he owned. Anyone close to Ed knew his nickname was Bob, which was given to him as a child. The family often referred to him as Ed/Bob. He enjoyed spending summers and holidays with his family, he even had a pool installed so his family could enjoy summers at his home.

Ed is survived by his wife Carolyn Cox, 7 children, Skip (Karen) Cox, Don Cox, Vickie Wineland, Wayne (Michelle) Cox, Cristine (Frank) Golupski, Alice Cox, and Cory (Tim) Droste. 9 Stepchildren. 13 grandchildren, 21 great, 2 great great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. Sisters Elaine Maydock, Doris (Leland) Crandall and Joan Clapp. Several nieces and nephews, special friend Ronda Acre and his dog Rex.

Ed preceded in death by his parents, first wife Phyllis L. Cox, son Thomas D. Cox, grandson Benson Cox, sister Bonnie Warr, and a stepdaughter Fran Mohnke.

A celebration of life will be held 3 PM, August 21, 2021 at the Knights of Columbus, 1108 Old US 27, St, Johns, Michigan.
