I knew Irv in those crazy, hazy days of our youth, when it all laid before us. We raced through the maze of hallways at Cass Tech and somehow managed to survive all the nutty hijinks of our adolescence, even the car crashes. Those were the days! But the years have passed and the miles have taken us in different directions. The memories of our friendship will forever remain in my mind and in my heart. God speed my friend. You will be missed. My deepest sympathies to all your loved ones.

I was a YO-3A pilot, operations officer in RVN and executive secretary to the QAA. I flew with Irvin and appreciated his efforts to accomplish the mission and assist the pilot in all our cockpit duties. He helped accomplish our missions. He will be sincerely missed.

We will miss not seeing IRV at the QAA-YO-3A Vietnam reunion in November.

I was a crew chief with the YO-3A platoon in Vietnam. We were and are a band of brothers. Irv was an Army Technical Observer who flew the YO-3A at night, at very low altitudes in Vietnam. It took a great deal of courage. If you don't know what a YO-3A is and what Irv was involved with, visit the website www.yo-3a.com.

Family and friends are welcome to join us at the Tucson-PIMA reunion.

I served with Irv in Vietnam. He and I went through advanced training at Fort Huachuca AZ and then deployed to Vietnam in June of 1970. Our group has been holding reunions and I wish he had gotten the opportunity to attend. We were a small group, our own band of brothers, and have tried to keep contact over the years. Irv will me missed. I just received an email about Irv’s passing. Irv was a warrior and deserves honor and respect for the sacrifice he and others have made in serving our Country. I may have some pictures from that era when we were young and inexperienced that I would be glad to share. Send me an email and I will try to respond.

Thanks

To the Relatives and Friends of Irv Gossman,

I met Irv in 1964 at Cass Tech High School in Detroit. We were all part of a solid group of Design and Drafting Technology student buddies. Over the years our lives have drifted to different adventures and regions of the country but our early bonds remain solid. I'm sorry to hear of Irv's passing and extend my sympathy.
