James Johnstin Obituary

James Johnstin

Kalamazoo

Formerly of Lansing

Jim Johnstin, 57, left this life Tuesday, September 30, 2014 to join his Heavenly Father's choir and to be reunited with his parents, Lloyd (Bud) and Janet Johnstin. He was born in St Joseph, MI on November 5, 1956, but lived many of his best years in Lansing. Throughout much of his time here, Jim faced mortality from health challenges with a determined attitude and undeniable courage before he waged his final battle with a paralyzing stroke complicated by pneumonia.

Jim is survived by his devoted partner Glenn Wheaton as well as his Schnauzer buddies, Butch and Tawnie. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Judy (Rick Powtak) Johnstin-Powtak, Joanne (Ron) Wheeler, four nieces and their spouses in addition to three great nephews and one great niece. Jim truly will be missed by those who loved him.

Contributions are suggested to be given to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or the ASPCA (Kalamazoo Chapter). Family and friends may share a condolence online at www.joldersma-klein.com.
