Jenie Lin Atkinson

Jenie Lin Atkinson Keego Harbor Formerly of Alpena and Dansville. Jenie Lin Atkinson and her twin sister, Julie Ann Atkinson-Elde were born December 3, 1955 in Alpena. Jenie was called to her eternal home on February 5, 2013 after a 7 month fight with cancer. Jenie attended Alpena High, graduated from Dansville High in 1974. Obtained a BA degree in Music in 1980 from Oakland University, taught music at Evola Music Co. for 3 decades while working for Bette Appel fashions in Bloomfield Hills for 27 years. In 2011 she graduated from Baker College as a Certified Pharmacy Tech and worked at Meijers pharmacy in Waterford. She is survived by her mother, Grace Atkinson Diehl Kammeraad and stepfather, Jack; beloved twin sister, Julie (Karl) Elde of Seward, AK, sister, Billie Ann (Howard) Crabtree of Lennon, MI; brothers, Tom (Barbara) of Cooper Landing, AK, and Bob of Moose Pass, AK; stepsisters, Kathy (Steve) Driggs, Dansville and Priscilla Myers, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Also cherishing her memory, her longtime companion, Tom Older of Burton, MI. Per Jenie's request, cremation has taken place. Her ashes will be taken to Alaska to reside with her twin sister. Memorial services will be held at Sylvan Lake on February 8. In lieu of flowers, Jenie has requested memorial contributions in her memory to Hospice of Michigan, 43097 Woodward Ave. Ste. 102, Bloomfield, MI, or any Hospice you choose.
