John McDowell Obituary

John Howard McDowell John was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 11, 1964 to Howard and Dora ( Becky) McDowell. He passed away January 27, 2013 peacefully in his sleep a few days after a heart attack. A survivor of far too many cancers for one person to endure, his passion for Disney kept the pain tolerable over the years. John's love of Disneyland and the California sunshine and beaches is what kept him out on the West Coast. If there were ever a lifetime pass for Disney, John would have been the first in line to get it. Several family and friends have fond lasting memories of their day at Disney with John as their escort. John is survived by his father, Howard; brothers, Jeffery of Mesa, AZ, William (Rosie) McCain of DeWitt, MI and Dale McCain of Grand Ledge, MI; sisters, Deborah (William) Scarnati of Lansing, MI and Patricia (Steve) Johnson of Owosso, MI; several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. John is preceded in death by his mom, Dora (Becky); grandparents, Howard and June McDowell; grandparents, Dorothy and Harry McDowell; grandparents, Archie and Opal Holland; aunts, Marie (Rebo) and Ann, uncle Richard and special cousin, Heather. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
