Joshua Norton Obituary
Lansing
Age 24, passed away too soon on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Josh was born in Lansing on October 16, 1989. He was a 2008 graduate of Holt High School and loved to play lacrosse. He was a merchandiser for Family Fair, Kehe Distributors and loved to ride his motorcycle, but his family was most important in his life.
Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Poitrowicz. Surviving are his girlfriend, Alayna Chalfant; father, Chris (Pam) Norton; mother, Barb Piotrowicz; brother, Robert Norton; paternal grandparents, Robert (Dee) Norton and Linda (Don) Gilliem; many loving, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; also his faithful companion, Coach.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00 am, at St. Casimir Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Bill Lugger as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.

My sympathies to the family and friends of Joshua Norton. I did not know Josh and from the entries noted he seemed like a very special young man. I was at Holy Thursday mass at Cristo Rey Parrish near the accident site. Please know the entire parrish family had Joshua and his family in their prayers. Myself, my first thoughts and prayers went to Joshua, his parents and his special loved ones. I too know the loss of a loved one due to such an accident and it was 10 days after our son's birth. My son is soon to be 29 years old. Though I don't know Joshua or his family, I know the deep pain you all are experiencing. May my prayers help sustain you through this difficult time.

Josh was such a wonderful person who always had a big smile when he walked through that door at Go Workout and always made time to see how I was and what was new with everyone. I am so sorry for your devastating loss. Having lost a son in the same circumstance, I share yours and my grief all over again. However, I have time on my side. Barb as devastating as this is, please try to remember Josh will never leave you. He's just watching from above. You will probably at some time receive a sign from him that I'm okay Mom and to take care of yourself. It can take on any form, but you will know it's from him.
